While practicing critical care medicine with the GW Medical Faculty Associates, former GW professor, Lakhmir ‘Mink’ Chawla, MD, invented methods of using angiotensin II to increase blood pressure in adults with septic or other distributive shock. He then led the development of GIAPREZA (angiotensin II) through FDA and EMA approval as CMO of GW licensee, La Jolla Pharmaceutical Co.
Mink now visits GW to share critical actions and lessons learned he took that enabled his innovative treatment to reach patients across the country.
