The GW Technology Commercialization Office (TCO) is now accepting applications for 2025 Technology Maturation Awards (TMA). This initiative seeks to advance academic innovations with promising commercial potential and societal impact. The awards provide a funding opportunity to help faculty inventors demonstrate the marketability of their GW-owned technologies through proof-of-concept, prototyping, technology development, or scale-up work.
The TCO plans to fund two to three projects during the 2025 academic year, with up to $50,000 awarded to each project for a term of 6–12 months. Applications for the Technology Maturation Awards must be submitted by October 10, 2024. GW faculty inventors with a GW-owned invention available for licensing are eligible to apply. Applicants with a new idea must disclose it to TCO before submitting a TMA proposal.
We strongly encourage all interested and eligible faculty to consider this opportunity and apply early to ensure that their proposals align with the goals of demonstrating commercial viability.
