We are pleased to report the successful conclusion of the 2024 Technology Commercialization Office (TCO) Innovation Competition and National Academy of Inventors (NAI) Chapter Induction on April 3, 2024. This annual event honored new inductees of the GW NAI Chapter and highlighted transformative GW research through the Innovation Competition, celebrating the integration of scientific innovation with commercial viability.

The ceremony welcomed 23 new inventor members alongside 7 new honorary members into the GW NAI Chapter, acknowledging their significant contributions to technological innovation and intellectual property. Following the induction ceremony, the Innovation Competition recognized outstanding technological advancements that promise significant impacts on industry and society. A total of $35,000 in prizes were distributed to the selected top 3 innovations in each category - Physical Sciences & Life Sciences to further support development and application testing.

We extend our gratitude to the panel of judges whose expertise and judgment were crucial in selecting the most promising inventions for these awards. A special thanks to Ms. Elizabeth Dougherty of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, who delivered the keynote address underscoring the vital role of academic research in advancing technology and industry. We also thank our sponsors, whose generous support made this event possible.

A heartfelt congratulations to all the new NAI members and award winners. Your pioneering work continues to set a high standard for innovation and underscores the critical role of academic research in shaping a sustainable and healthy future.
